Smile Koni 4/4 Install

First I want to say thanks to Sam Strano for giving good advice on the product that I purchased and taking the time to help on setting them up. Now I believe what other members have said about the Koni's. They have truly change the way my car performs. I have KYB's on my other car but are no comparison to the Koni's, not that KYB's are bad it is just the Koni's give more advantages to fine tune things. I also lowered the car a little bit with out the use of lowering springs which I think the stance is just right. I'll post some pics tommorrowbut just wanted to say thanks to Strano and the other members for recommending Koni's. They are worth the extra money.

All I did was remove the rear isolator and replaced it with a piece of hydraulic hose . lowered it almost an inch. I didn't want it really low because of my LT's but the ride and handling is amazing.

Glad you are enjoying your new shocks!!!! For those reading/looking at the pics, remember the car was lowered not with springs (that's why it's not a huge drop), but with the Koni spring perch and rear isolator mod only. I think it makes the car look right, like it should have stock.

Just something to remember for those looking to take the edge off their 4x4's. The money you save on springs can then go to the kick-*** Koni shocks. And you can see what he thinks about how it drives. Not bad... shocks are the key to a good working suspension.

Sam,
How will sitting on the lower perch (front) and rear hose mod make the car ride when compared to keeping it at stock height? Any adverse effects to impact harshness on pot holes, expansion joints, etc?

Thanks.

I'm not Sam, but I did the heater hose mod first, and noticed no adverse effects at all. When I installed the Konis on the lower perch, impact harshness was, and continues to be, amplified compared to my old Bilsteins. That's with the setting at four sweeps from full soft.

Sasquatch
Do you see the need for an adjustable panhard bar to accomodate the drop? I'm looking to do the exact same thing on my Z28. Thanks for posting up your impressions.

For this mod I did not need a PHB as the rear is still centered but am considering getting one.
