Default Sway bar links - suggestions

I found out when replacing the front shocks, you really should replace the sway bar links. I just have the stock sway bar, I did a search and opinions are all over the place for replacement links. Suggestions? (Note: the ability to purchase them from the local APS is a plus since I want to finish this today.)

Thanks.

Normally the sway bar endlinks brake when you try to take them off anyway, so for the <$20, just buy new ones from AutoZone. I have the energy suspention ones. Stockers are cheaper.

Stock endlinks are usually completely seized and go right in the garbage. I was able to remove and reinstall my aftermarket endlinks several times though.

Default Different sleeve lengths

Okay, I went to AZ and got the red Energy Suspension end links, part no. 9.8118R, as listed on their website (AZ also gave me the same part no). The sleeve for the new endlinks is about a 1/4 inch longer than the one I took off. Will this make a difference or should I shorten the sleeve on the new ones to the length of the old ones?

As long as your sway bars sit nearly parallel to the ground and you've not over tightened the links, you should be okay.

I also had a problem with the spacer sleeve being a lot longer than the ones that BMR recommended to me for my 21mm BMR swaybar. I just kept my old spacer and used that. Also the d-bushings did not fit. I would assume the d bushing should close around the bar, but they were not. Seems like an odd problem because the energy suspension bushings stated they were for 21mm bars

That's actually a problem with many of the aftermarket poly endlink bushings. AFA the 'D' bushings (swaybar body mount bushings), that's definitely a problem I've encountered with ES brand bushings many times, however when I bought Prothane ones, they actually fit closely around the bar with practically no visible spacing between bar and inner bushings surface (this is when I had a 21mm solid rear).

In my case Prothane "d" bushings fit very well.....as did the endlinks.

FWIW, the sleeve provided with the ER's were WAY to long. I just used the old ones which were still a tight fit.

ENERGY SUSPENSION makes the sway bar endlinks in many different lengths that you can get.

how tight are you supposed to torque the endlink bolts?

According to the instruction from energy suspension tighten until bushings have a slight bulge.
