Default Little advice on lowering and recentering

I have QA1s on front and plan on getting springs for rear. I have Comp Engineering shocks on rear. My question is, what does everyone advise as the best set of lowering springs to get, for the rear, and how do I go about measuring and recentering rear after the spring install? Thanks so much for any help anyone can give!

The springs depend on what you want to do with the car and how low. As for centering, you can place a straight edge on the wheel and measure from the body. Or you can take the wheels off and measure out from the subframe.

I'm looking for something with pretty good spring rate as to not bottom out or beat body to death on bumpstops and 1.25-1.5in drop.

IMO, Try doing the "Hose Mod" to the factory rear springs first , and see how you like that.

Stranos are probably the best lowering spring available for our cars.

For centering the rear axle housing, I used two pieces of string with nuts tied to one end so you have two "plumb bobs" and don't need to keep hoping that your measurements are taken at the same spot on either side.

Tape the string onto the car just above the fenderwell and so that weight hangs the string directly at center of wheel. The simply measure from wheel lip or rim or whatever and you'll get accurate readings to use for adjustaing your panhard bar and re-centering your axle housing...

No idea if Strano springs cause the rear to be off center, but my stock, hose-modded ones did.

Strano springs are available from www.stranoparts.com

If you call Sam Strano, he will discuss your options.

2.BMR, 126$, 170in.lb., 1" drop

I'm guessing you have an adjustable panhard rod?

We offer a 1.25" rear spring only kit that would work perfect for you!! I have used them on mid 8 second cars and still had 60' times in the mid 1.30's . The ride quality and stance cannot be beat The spring can be found here on this page -

Wow, thanks for all the help guys! Yes, I do have an adjustable PH bar. I have full suspention but it's been setup for drag. This is a street car though. 99% street use 1% drag use. I just like to be ready in case something is next to me, lol. Although I've been doing alot of appearance mods and intensely cleaning every aspect of the car and doing more shows than anything else. My plans are to sell my true duals with dual E-cutouts, go back to a Y-pipe setup and lower car. I've rode in another stock Camaro that was lowered with eibach springs and with a full tank of gas &/or bad bump, the car would bottom out in rear and I'm trying to avoid that in my car. Would that be the spring rate or drop? My main objective is to lower car nicely without bottoming out. Again, I thank everyone for their help, advice & patience with my questions and suspension newbieness, lol.

Question

Would using your rear springs with the stock spring isolator installed drop it about the same amount as the stock springs and the hose mod without the isolator? I can't stand all the new creaks and grones that I hear with the hose mod.
