Question for UMI or Sam
Or anyone else who may know.....I just installed a double adjustable UMI PHR yesterday. On the side where it connects to the body I am having trouble getting a wrench on the stop nut to tighten it. Is there a special wrench I need? The metal on the bracket is too close and will not let the wrench get up in there I could get a picture later if needed. If anyone knows can you point me in the right direction where to get this? What is the exact size of the stop nut also? I thought I had it all adjusted weight was on rear suspension then I drove it and its off 1/2" now ugh.
Thanks
Thanks

I didn't have an open end wrench that fit there properly when I assembled mine either. Once I determined the proper length on the car with the suspension loaded. I took the PHB off the car without disturbing the length and tightened the jam nuts off the car with a couple adjustable wrenches. It also made it easier to keep the rod ends parallel while tightening, not to mention getting those jam nuts TIGHT (may want to consider loc-tite on the jam nuts). It somewhat defeats the purpose of "on-car adjustable" but it works.

I installed a BMR last week and it looks just like your sphon. I am having a hard time understanding what you are talking about, can you get pics of the new one and where your problem is?

You can't tighten it on the car like that. You can on the axle side, but not the body side due to the way the PHB mount it built from GM.
Once I get the length set to what I need, I take the PHB off, and chuck the rod-end in a bench vice. I hold the PHB itself with a strap wrench, and tighten the jam nut. Then I do the same for the other jam nut, making sure the rod-ends are both oriented the same way.
The DA PHB is no "on the car" adjustable because of that one stupid jam nut, and they are all that way if they use rod-ends at both sides.
You don't need to do it my way, there are a million way. Tighten the axle side, then take the bar and swap ends and tighten the 'new' axle side. Just a little common sense, but don't try and tighten around the body mount, you will never get it tight enough.

Got the phb adjusted tonight. Left the car on the ground and had enough room to adjust it where it was perfectly even side to side. Then pulled the bar off and put it in a vice like Sam said and tightened the stop nuts and reinstalled it. Then torqued it while it was on the ground so im good to go now .
