Default adjusting panhard???

ive searched this a couple times and i got a lot of the info i needed but not all. I got my panhard bar in and after getting it to the ground i noticed the left wheel sticks out more than the right. Its not a double adjustable so i know its not on car adjustable. Now after i take it off the car and adjust it how do i get it back in, the holes aren't ligning up because the length is different than stock. ive tried pushing on the wheel and i cant get it to lign up right. Help please!

just use a tape measure and measure the difference between the tire and the inner fenderwell then adjust accordingly.

Unless you have two plumbobs handy, try this... Take a couple of pieces of either string, or if you have some, fishing line, about 18 inches long. Tie 2-3 hex nuts on one end, for weights. Now you have two "poor boy" plumb bobs.

Using masking tape, tape the plumb bobs to the side of the car, and orient them so they drape over the center of the rear wheels. Measure the distance from the string/line to the hub caps or tire sidewalls on both sides. Adjust as necessary, until both sides are equal.

If the left tire is further out, shorten the bar by 1/2 the difference in measurements.

Good luck!

When trying to line up the bolts and holes in the axle, push on the car, not the tire.

Hello, like leadfoot mentioned you need to push the body over. hopefully you have it adjusted close so you don't have to take the bar off again to readjust it. Thats why all of our bars are on car adjustable.

You may be missing a key point here. With "On car adjustable" or double adjustable units you just loosen the nuts and rotate the section. For single adjustable, you only need to drop the end that has the adjustment on it. For mine, I did it a small length at a time, used a screwdriver to gently align them, put it back together, wiggle it a bit, and repeat. Again, leave the non-adjustable side bolted up to the car. Only drop the end that the adjustment is on. Once you get it lined up correctly, you never need to adjust it again unless you make changes to the car.
