Default looking to upgrade the LT1 brakes... need advice

I want to upgrade fromt the LT1 brakes. Weight and streetability are my two main concerns. I want something that will stop better than the LT1 brakes I have now but do not want to add any weight. I was looking at the C5 set up but it seems like it would be too heavy. Anyone using some sort of street version of aerospace/strange brakes? The car is NOT a daily driver but I do want to remain streetable. Any ideas?

Hrmm...better brakes usually comes from bigger rotors, calipers and good pads. The c5 conversion cannot be much heavier than LT1 brakes, because you get rid of ALOT of the heavy iron on the spindle.

Might just try some hawk pads and good rotors for your LT1..

The C5 setup will probably be the best option. The weight saved by going from a cast caliper to an aluminum one will be offset by the weight of the larger diameter rotors (maybe not...I haven't actually weighed either of them, I'm just speculating). Bang for the buck it's a great upgrade.

Thanks for the responses! Looks like the C5 may be the best way to go.
