Question What brakes to buy???

I want to upgrade the brakes on my 00 TA. I want better stopping power than I have. I currently just have steel lines and Baer Eradispeed crossed drilled slotted rotors and hawk pads. I don't want fitment issues with stock rim size or weld draglites. What are you guys running?

What kind of hawk pads? HPS or ceramic? Have you cleaned and relubed the caliper pins lately? Flushed the brake fluid?

C5 brakes on the front and C5 calipers and pads on the rear. WS6Store has a good deal on the fronts which is all you really need.

I'm not sure what happened to the OP, but HPS are very good for stopping power for competitive autoxing even on r-comp tires. Hawk ceramics won't stop as good as HPS and supposedly dust less.

Make sure the brake hydraulic system is maintained. If it's not then your brakes won't be applying the force you put into the brake pedal.

It seems the most sensible as well as a good performing combo is Brenbo blanks and Hawk HPS pads. I went with a C5 kit, GM powder-coated rear stock calipers, Hawk HPS pads, and Powerslots, all around. I'm happy because this setup stops better than stock brakes and looks great, but there is extra unsprung weight.
