Thumbs up My Chevelle makes cover

Rick Jensen, former Editor at GM High Tech, recently relocated to sunny Florida to become the Editor at Auto Trader Classics magazine. He was scrounging around for stock appearing musclecars, so I volunteered my 1970 Chevelle SS 454 and did a photo shoot of it. Glad to see it made the cover! If you see this magazine on the news stand, now you know who's car it is

Here is a high-res shot that wasn't used. Perfect for screen backgrounds:

Great looking car, imo they got the fronts right in 70. You have stayed pretty quiet about that particular car, whats the plans for it? Don't say leave it alone because I dont believe thats possible for you.

I have some Bilsteins and better coil springs for it. Eventually, I'll build a strong BBC for it and maybe put in a 6-speed manual. Car doesn't have the original engine in it anymore, so it is fair game to modify a bit.

Like the pic with the firehouse doors down; fine job! Although it would be cool to see it in pro-touring trim; but that would degrade the value.

Did not know Rick left gmhtp? He did a fine job and I liked his articles - hopefully the quality of the mag will not drop with his departure.

The move does not seem as glamorous, but auto trader is a big company and hopefully he received a good bump in salary. Good move for the resume as I believe there are more autotraders in circulation than gmhtp mags.

Sorry for the hijack..

Its a 360 hp? I thought the only two 454s was the LS-5(390hp) and the monster LS-6(450hp)? Or is it a 396?
