Question Launching At The Track

If I have an Auto with a 4k stall, is it better to launch from idle or stalled up? I ran a 7.7 at kennedale from 3,500 RPM on the foot brake. Would It be better to hit it from idle? ive never tried it

Try launching it at just above idle.

ive heard punching it from idle gives you more consistent times. i guess if you care about reaction time then you should footbrake

Well depends on if you want to flash the converter up before leaving or what. What is the setup of the car? (Suspension and what not?)

Or is it some kind of

Its easier (much easier) on your converter if you launch from a lower rpm. I usually hold mine to about 1800-2000rpm then nail it. I've got a 4,000 rpm yank by the way. I've also gotten better 60' times like that believe it or not.

Nittos won't hook very well no matter where you are. Get some MT DR's and stall it up.

Im getting ready for the new 1/4mi track

So it seems like most of u flash the stall. Im gonna have to try it this weekend if the weather is good.
I havent had problems with the nittos at the track yet. I guess im not pushing enough power to break them loose

update:
I went to the track yesterday and raced 6 times...
1 on motor from 1,000 rpm - 8.4 @ 83 mph
1 on motor from 3,500 rpm - 8.3 @ 84 mph
2 on spray from 1,500 rpm - 7,quick @ fast mph
2 on spray from 3,500 rpm - 7.quicker @ faster mph

So my car ran better stalled up I did however feel the car jump more from a low rpm but didnt give me a better 60' or anything. Im very satisfied with how good it runs for what it has. With me in the car i guestimate a little under 4,000 lbs full tank of gas as well.
The only different thing I did from last time out, 7.7 @ 89 mph, was a better tune from me with the help of "SLP4CamaroSS"
