Smile Finish Line Performance is raffling off a '71 Chevelle SS 540/T56!!!

At Finish Line Performance's 2009 open house, May 30th 2009 from 12 pm to 6 pm, we will be raffling off our 1971 Chevrolet Chevelle SS with a 540 cubic inch big block Chevy (built by Midwest Engine Tech), T-56 conversion with Centerforce dual friction clutch, BeCool radiator, Baer disc brake conversion, Torque Trust rims, etc.

Winner need not be present.

Proceeds will be going to The National Kidney Foundation, Junior Diabetes, The H-foundation, and The Heart Foundation.

One of the charities that we will be donating to is the National Kidney Foundation which has a special meaning to me. My mom had a kidney transplant 19 years ago (on March 10th) and I donated a kidney to my oldest brother 7 years ago (on March 20th). So they have been helpful to my family and now it is a chance to give back.

The winner of the Chevelle being announced at 6 pm.
Tickets are on sale.
1 ticket for $100.
3 tickets for $150.

Tickets can be purchased from our website or by phone.

At this time we are looking to sell 2000 tickets. If we sell a lot very soon... I may have to have additional tickets printed.

2000 tickets will be good. Minimum of 100k for the charity. Normally these have a "minimum ticket count" and a "maximum ticket count". That way people know the odds and it protects the person raffling from having a lot of tickets left over and potentially "giving" the car away with no gain. Just a thought.

I really like this car, I may have to talk to the gf and get in on some tickets

How much would the taxes be upon winning? Cost of the car if sold, or would they be based on the price i purchased it for say $150 for three tickets?

The car was appraised at over $40,000 a few years ago before the 540, 6 speed, and Baer brake conversion.

You would have to contact your secretary of state for that information.

Thanks to everyone that has purchased tickets so far.

I took advantage of a nice day and ran some errands. So... if you win this car.. you can take it grocery shopping. Just make sure to park it away from the other cars and runaway shopping carts.

The raffle is this Sunday!
I took the Chevelle to a car show this weekend. Probably the last show while still in our possession.

Smile And the winner is...

Thanks to everyone that came out. It was truly a great event. I could not believe how many people attended. There was actually a line to get in. Thanks to Tim for bringing the 2010 Camaro.

The winning ticket for the Chevelle raffle was #620. The lucky ticket holder was John Scipione of Lisle, Illinois. John was not able to attend, but I called him and he was truly shocked when I gave him the news. He seemed concerned about the open house and asked me how the food was and what the turnout was like. He received a big laugh from the people in attendance as he was on speaker phone.

Here are some pics...

Thanks. It was a lot of work, but it was worth it!

The owner of the black Formula is me. Still the same set up making 771 rwhp.

Here are a couple of pics at a recent car show...
