Nick on stangs was right and now i know why he charges more to detail Vette's.
for some reason they have the hardest mother ******* clear coat on them.
in my previos thread i was able to get some scracthes from this
most of the scratches on the vette i thought were lighter and not as deep. i used the same technique i did on the Caprice and couldnt get them out.
really pissed me off.
anyways, here are some pics. i tried and tried to get 100% of the swirls out but as you can see in the sun pics, there are about 5% left. far better then before just didnt meet my expectations....

You'd be surprised how quickly road debris can mess up a black car.
Now get some clear film protectant put on that poor car so it doesn't happen again.
My 2008 with over 6500 miles pictured here. Can you see the clear film? Never leave home without it. I didn't put it on my 2006 coupe (also black), and I quickly regretted it.

I wonder if the clear coat is harder because the panels are carbon fiber. Seems like GM would have to use different paint/clear combinations to get it to adhere. Just a guess.
Nice work, btw.
Cy: is that clear film on the nose only? I'm a big fan of that stuff, especially the fact that you can wax over it.

Nose, about 1/3 of the hood and front fenders (although I plan to get the whole hood done now because I took a hit past the film and got a chip), front duct up to the Z06 logo, rocker panels and about 3" of door, rear ducts, rear flares (just the front half), mirrors, and door handle indentations.

You will be saddened to hear that the license plate citation is no longer a fix-it-ticket. You get a citation for that, you have to pay it now. Been that way for about 2 years that I know of. I usually get one per year, about $75. Worth paying it to keep the ugly plate off of my cars.

maybe it depends on the cop?
He had to pay 10 bucks and show proof of having the plate on.
