what kind of sealant/glue is used on windshields?

what kind of sealant/glue is used on windshields? One of my friends was driving earlier and stripping on the top of the windshield came about halfway off... what type of glue/sealant is used to get it back on? Can it be bought at walmart?

go to a auto glass place there is a sealant called 418 betaseal is what we use in missouri but they might use something different its not expensive they should let u buy a tube good luck
