Default A/c problems! Please help!

So i got this car from a friend and told me the A/C just started blowing hot. The car is a 2001 Z28 NBM. I checked to see if at had freon and it had pressure but it was all hot. So I don't think it has a leak.. due to it had alot of pressure. So I drain out what it has and begin to refill it and the a/c pressure gauge immediately goes to the red- danger side. I figured it would go down, well it doesn't. I hear the compressor kick in and think, o.k it's going in. It takes half the can and never gets under the red- danger side. It won ttake the rest of the can. What gives??????? Anyone have this problem before? Any suggestions. Yes, I did turn on the car.... Yes I did turn on the a/c to max...Yes I did turn the **** to cold... Anyone???? Need the help...It's hot outside and my daughter is complaining to her mom. Lol!

Hmmmm. I was filling it through the canister. It's the only fitting that has the 134a plug. Is that what I'm doing wrong? Where am I supposed to be filling it?
