Friendly inspection station/ NE Houston My car is registered in a non emissions county, but i'm not sure where I can get it inspected down here. Any help would be appreciated. PM with locations.

Thats gonna be a problem. My original county is about an 8 hour drive one way. I can't get off work for the amount of time it would take to make the trip. I got stopped a couple of years back in another county that was also a non emission county. I was able to go to an inspection station in that county with no problems. Where is the nearest county to New Caney that is a safety inspection only county?

Try Polk County (Livingston). But I would call first to make sure they have no problems inspecting you with registration in a different county. I know Angelina County (Lufkin) is emission free which is where I grew up, *** Muffler up there is friendly but it's about a 1.5 hour ride from New Caney.

Well im a licenced state inspector im located in Fort Worth, maybe a little far for some, but to answer some questions you can get your car inspected in a different county than its registered in, however it is up to the inspector if he or she wants to do it.
