Default Dyno close to Texarkana

I will be putting a tr224 cam in next month - and need to know where the closest dyno tune is for me. I am in Texarkana, TX. Any help would be great. My car is a a4 so I guess I will have to trailor it.

Probably the closest is East Texas Motor Sports in Longview. Haven't ever used them though. I wouldn't look for the closest, but someone with a good reputation. There are some good shops in DFW. Personally, I wouldn't go anywhere but Ed Wright's in Tulsa. It was more than worth the long drive to trailer the car up there.

Their is a mustang dyno in Atlanta,tx that we have used before to do some tuning,it is the closest that i know of. Your other options are Longview or Dallas.

He said dyno tune not dyno. If you have someone who can tune it for you and just need a dyno like StreetStalkerZ, Addington's Performance in Atlanta would work, but they have no one there that you could trust to do a tune on your car.

I have heard good things about the shop in Longview. The guy I spoke to there through email was also very nice and responsive.

Never ended up going down though, I ran out of money and got a mail order tune to get me running. Wish I hadn't.

I didn't know there was a difference in dyno or dyno tune. All I know is that I will be installing a cam next month and immediatly after I want it tuned the best possible way - which I believe is driving my car on a dyno. So wherever the closest one is, would be nice. The one in Longview has a dyno right?

Thumbs up

I highly recommend Stephen at ETMC in Longview. Yes, he has an in-house DynoJet dyno. He tuned my 2008 STS-V, and I've had my 95 Impala SS on his dyno. He tunes with HPtuners. He is very knowledgeable, and his prices are reasonable.

Texarkana isn't that far. HTH

The reason I pointed out the difference is that I figured you wanted to take the car and have it tuned on a dyno by someone that knows what they are doing. Addington's has a dyno but no one that would be competent in tuning your car on it. StreetStalkerZ has a close friend that tuned his car for him. They just paid to use the dyno, not to have the car tuned. So if you know someone that can tune it and just need to rent dyno time Addington's would be fine. From your post I assumed you needed someone to do the tuning, and in that case Longview would be the closest.

Do you have the contact info for the place in Tulsa? I'm looking to get my car tuned, it was already tuned, but they recommended taking it to someone who knows these cars. I'd appreciate the info.

That might be ok for setting wot a/f but it's hardly the ticket for a complete tune.

rdemarce, I sent you a pm.

crawls out from under rock

For those of you from Texarkana, Brad told me there is a place across the street from Adgers that now has a dyno, pretty sure it doesnt offer tuning services but just a FYI.

The only place across from Adger's is that Granite store and some kind of rock/dirt/whatever sales. Maybe in that new Advantage Parts distributors?

I would recommend Stephen at ETMC as well, He does the work on my GTO, Josh Lamons Supercharged GTO. The two of us along with Dustin and Brad went down there last friday and he dyno our cars and with use of the wideband found that my current GTO was reading way too lean at wot. He fixed it on the spot while we went to lunch.

He needs to get a good driveability tune first then take it to the dyno and adjust WOT. Most of the shops you will incounter will not take the time to make the car drive everyday without problems. They will strap it to a dyno make 3-4 runs, adjust timing, shift points (if your a A4),delete codes and set a half *** idle then send you packing with a handful of dyno sheets to make you smile at your numbers. Search around for someone that is well known in making the car drive everyday without surgeing, cold or hot cranking problems and other little things that will make you regret owning a modified car.

WOT is easy getting the driveability down is the hard part.

Street Tune is more important to the dyno tune I completely agree. Set up an appt with Stephen at ETMC and tell him you want a full street and dyno tune. He will make you car a whole new animal
