This one:

http://www.gmhightechperformance.com...z06/index.html

Runs 9.93 at 138 mph on the factory short block with heads, cam, intake, and weight reduction.

There may be faster but that's the fastest naturally aspirated C5 I've seen.

GM High Tech Performance said they measured the bore and stroke and dug deep for any hidden nitrous and the results were a factory bore and stroke and no hidden tricks. The GMHTP crew said they were satisfied that the car is legit.

As stated, it does have a custom transmission but the factory short block is pushing it to the 9s with heads, cam, intake, and bolt-ons.

A great milling and porting job on the heads, intake, and throttle body, an unspecified custom cam along with light weight, and a custom transmission so it shifts faster. I don't know how it goes 138 either, but it does.

ZO6's only weigh 3150 stock also. A "little weight reduction" could be relative I guess. F body Cam only tin cans run low 10's dont they? It is pretty crazy, but not out of the question I wouldnt think. I am not sure I believe his power numbers though. I inquired about buying his old record setting heads/cam (ported ls6's/cartek cam) a few months ago and he said it made 486 with that combo. Then he changed to the current Trick Flow combo and "lost power" but went faster..... Hmmmmm...

Damn that thing must weigh nothing to rip 138 H/C! Are there any pics of the car?

Matt went 10.55 /132 with his 427, no crazy weight reduction, and a built normal T56. I always thought it was up there for c5's as far as NA six speeds went. That other car must be nuts.

i would like to know the compression of the motor in that car. Its unbelievable that "a little over 450 to the wheels" gets that car to 138 trap speed, IMO.

I am going to agree with you. And I call bs on the supposed cam specs.
The times he's running are done with c6z's in the upper 5xxrwhp range.
Look in the corvette section. Zturd is running 10.80's at 130 with 444rwhp,
And miami993c297 is at 511rwhp on stock displacement. Seems like he is probably making over 500rwhp turning 7000rpm.

There are several 9sec 6speed N/A Vettes from what I've been told. Here in the state of Texas though I still think my brother has the record with a 10.55 @ 128 and backed up with a 10.6 @ 132. Should go a decent amount faster with the new heads. The car is a MTI 427 in a 99 FRC.

Per my contacts the car is legit but it's probably lighter than most folks think. Great achievement regardless.
