Default Texas state inspection

I may be moving to the Plano area soon. I have a H/C car with no emissions left on it all.
Will i have any issues passing inspection?
What all do they look for?
What about tint and front plates, are they a PITA about them?
Thanks
Josh

Here's all the info. on the OBD-II requirements: http://www.txdps.state.tx.us/vi/Misc/faq/faq_obdii.htm

As long as you meet that, you should pass if they don't do a visual inspection (if you have no cats, usually that's all they notice missing.)

Tint they'll fail you for if it's under the legal limit (20%.) They don't care about the front plate.

If it doesn't have cats, you can still pass if you find the right place to not do a visual. Since you're moving to Plano, I'll PM you the place I took my T/A and it passed with no cats.

Most lower end places like a random service station wont check, the higher end places might. Remember that your car is low to the ground and it is a PITA to look under there so most places wont.

They never check mine.

if they flag it for no cats, then it will be a pain in the *** to get it inspected....because every station you take it to will see that it's been flagged when they login on the computer.... ask me how I know that...

Head south where there is no emissions test.

Does Texas do any sort of collector plate like Ohio that would make it exempt?
