Default REASONABLY priced tune in DFW?!?!

Do any of the speed shops offer a reasonable street tune anymore?

I've called LG Motorsports,Dallas Performance and SSP and everyone seems to be charging ~400-500 bucks for turning some P codes off, reseting my speedo and adjusting my fuel trims.

I paid $75 dollars for this 3 years ago, and he used HPTuners and we drove the car did some WOT runs adjust things, car ran a lot better.

I NEED THIS DONE ASAP!!!

Anybody willing to help me out? I really just need the car to pass state so I'm really only worried about adjusting the speedo for the gears, and getting the SES light off. Mods are in signature.

ANYBODY CAN HELP ME OUT?!?!

Thanks!
-Seth

You usually get what you pay for. I learned the hard way that the cheaper tunes are cheaper for a reason. Plus, some shops offer a "lifetime" tune for that price where you get retuned for future mods.

One place to stay far away from for a tune is XHP. That is unless you think its ok for a 408 to only make 455 hp and 435 lb/ft, idle horribly, surging like crazy, and stalling frequently. Then being told that "its normal."

If you are looking for something cheap, click on the "Texas Classifieds" at the top and list your car for sale. You will be happy to know that ITS FREE, and you wont be wasting any more shops time wanting something for nothing

Mail order if you want something safe and to get codes reset or turned off. You have exhaust and a lid so I don't think you need anything special. No offense, just saying not worth the $90-100/hr labor charge to do a dyno/street tune.

I don't know their prices, but I'd recommend SNL Performance. Steve and the guys are great to work with, and I have heard good things about his tuner Matt!

Sam does a damn good job.

Fastest cam only TBSS thanks to his tuning.

And his time is also in what I believe is the fastest/quickest 2010 Camaro SS. Tune and full exhaust, on DRs, 12.3's.

With just a tune and headers? That's news to me. Maybe up north with their mineshaft air I can see that happening

I would definitely not cheap out on a tune. Tune is key to engine longevity and daily driving manners. I would definitely coin up and spend the cash! It will be a much happier car and much more fun to drive.

You mean to say 12.2's.

Thanks guys, I did find out that SSP will do basic code deletes and speedo changes for $150, as I am only interested in gettin the car ready for state inspection, this is a hell of a deal for what I've shopped around. I can worry about a perfect tune after I get a hot cam and ls6 intake/new injectors etc. . .

Thanks for the input guys!

than if money is tight I would spend it in the right places to protect your investment.

Hence why I would not cut corners on tuning

Call me Richie Rich then cause Id drop the coin on a good tuner than save a few bucks for a half *** tuner
