Haha, stupid ricers.
Ok, so I was at a meet the other day, and there were quite a few imports. One guy kept showing off, and when I went over to talk to him, he was bragging about how he has a Civic that he dropped an LS2 into with the Vtec head. He said he runs 12's. Anyone ever heard of anything like this? Lol.
MODS: Whoops, wrong section. Someone please move this to the main texas members page.

It's a LS/Vtec AKA Frankenstien, you take a b18 "LS" block and put a DOHC Vtec head on it. The idea is you get more torque from the .2L increase displacement and more top end HP from the DOHC Vtec head.

what's a b18?
and I think the import guy said ls2 with a v-tech head lol.
unless there is an ls2 engine in the import world that is just funny, if he put a stock ls2 in his civic he would still run a 12 or faster.

Yeah post #2 is correct. It is called an LS swap (like from an Acura integra LS). Anyway I think the first guy is confused on his wording, either way without a huge amount of boost they aren't touching us...

On a different note, when people do the "LS" swap and but the Vtec head on, how much power should they be making?

on stock internals with boltons prob around 170-180 to the wheels... if it was done right, in one of the lighter model civics, and with a decent driver it could hang with a stock f-body... most of them prefer the b20 which is a whopping .2 liters more than an ls so the displacement equals a bottle of coke now lol... they are fun little cars to drive but like i said, if they are done right, which 99% of those guys are idiots nowadays... i used to be into those cars but you can only take so much from those morons before you get sick of it... all is well and i'm here now
