Default Stock for Stock 04-06 GTO vs 98-02 F-Body 1/4 Times?

Need stock times for each. I have someone telling me that a 2004 stock GTO will beat any stock 98-02 F-Body in the 1/4 mile (6spd) of course. I told them there is no way, The 04 has the LS1 in it and is heavier than the Fbody. Also goes for the 05-06 LS2 6.0 GTO. Don't all GTO's run mid 13's? Ive seen Fbodies run low 13's and even breaking into the 12's stock.

Please tell me im right assuming the drivers are both professional.

I would say:

F-body > 04 GTO
F-body = 05-06 GTO

Thats the general rule, but I would give an 05-06 GTO the edge over an F-Body.

Alot of people would say that the better trans gearing i the 04 GTO makes up for the added weight when compared to the F-Body. I disagree with that.

Anyways.. this is basically would most people on the site would tell you.

plus if we are dividing the GTO's into 04 and 05-06...why not divide the F-body into 98, 99-00, and 01-02's

but then again...the LT1 owns all

lol yeah i would agree with you the only thing that my friends 04 gto did was make me pull on him... when i was stock besides a gmmg catback i put about 1/2 a car on him and he had LT's cats and a blowmaster catback... so i would say no for the 04's but the 05's and 06's iunno never got to race one, a buddy of mine has one but he cant really drive it and i dont see him that much but when we played around he seemed like he wanted to pull on me but we never got a clean race... as far as times i have never ran mine cause of the time bomb im driving on and my friend ran his 04 at the track with sumisuckos with slp lt's and mentioned above he ran 13.4 with a 2.1 60', and i think he is a pretty good driver

it all really depends on the cars. my SS ran a 13.3 stock, and my buddy's LS2 GTO ran a 13.6 stock. it's basically a tossup between the LS1 fbodies and the LS2 GTO's. some run faster/slower than others in both cars

A good driver in the LS2 GTO can hit a 13.2 or so. A great driver with good DA can hit a 12.9.

with good da my 99 camaro with a lid only ran 13.2@105, my gto ls1 went 13.6@101 so 4mph and 4/10's is about right, ls2 should run what a stock camaro or firebird would run.

my car weighted in with me and a 1/4 tank of gas 3950, my camaro weighted in with me and a 1/4 tank of gas 3650.

It's really all up to the who has the driver mod. A few tenths here and there can be made up or lost by the driver.
