Had my T/A appraised today...
And they can kiss my *** for $3,000 lol. I just went for kicks to look at some new cars. the SRT Challengers and G8 GT's are nice. The C6 Vette's are pretty cool but they were really cramped. I am really surprised people take me seriously lol.. I was actually interested in the G8 GT but not for $28,000 at 22k miles. They were like $25,000 new. Also $28k for the 06 GTO is ridiculous also, it's been sitting 3 years.

It has 92,750k miles. I haven't been able to work on the Camaro at all lately since it's at work. It runs nice though, Monday I will get some vid's of it and hopefully take it around the block. Just have fab up a shift lever..
I had just washed and waxed it, looked beautiful plus I had the T-Tops out.

If you remove your personal attachment to the car and think about it realistically...
It's 11 years old, has 93K miles, is not a "rare" car, was probably about $28K new, and has had who knows how many owners. While you keep it in excellent condition, and it has sentimental value to you (and most people on this board), the dealer sees it as something they can turn around and sell quickly. $3K is too low, but I wouldn't be insulted by it.

Why didn't you just look into the G8 before you spent the cash on the Trans am? I'd keep the trans am though.

Folks think that these cars are gonna be the next 69 RS/SS Camaro or 73 SD455 TAs.
Sorry, but those cars were unique in every way possible. A couple badges and 17" rims doesn't make it rare.

I was just looking around, there was a great variety of my favorite cars in one place so I figured I would stop by. The appraisal was just for kicks, wanted to see what they would give me. They did bump it up to $6,000 after they looked it over, which honestly was a fair offer. It's one of those cars that's good for business and they wanted it.
There is no real point to this thread, just figured I would post it up here and see what others thought. I was really shocked when he said $3,000 though. At least now you guys should know what to expect.
I had to pay cash for a car, otherwise I would have probably gotten a G8. But yeah I am not selling the T/A, the Camaro will be once it's done though, since that's really what I bought it for.
And no I don't think my car is rare by any means, it's a red 99 Trans Am, not really anything special but I was expecting for than $3,000 as a first offer. I didn't buy it to be a collector, I bought it to drive and enjoy it. My 73 Camaro, 80 Trans Am, 69 Mustang's etc are the collectible money makers, which have fared quite well so far since I bought my 99 with the profit I made from the 80 T/A. I can't wait for the Camaro to be done so I can move onto something else, hopefully a MOPAR of some sort.

hell i got mine appraised at my local ford dealership and they offered 1200 lmfao even after i showed them what was invested in it. they said its got a bad history, but they give me the car fax and shows no wrecks recorded no indication of mileage tampering, its just had about 7 different owners. i saw nothing out of the ordinary, its dealerships job to rip people off.

that said, it's to be expected, the dealers are there to try to get you into as big an overall price for a new car as possible, while giving you as little as they possibly can for your old car.
if someone is looking into getting a new car, their better option is almost always to sell it to a private party, you will almost always get more money out of it that way.

Not sure how many cars you have bought but going into the dealership with Kbb says my car is worth this or this other one says its worth this...doesn't work. They almost never go with this option. I think using these sites as a private party sell would work better.
