Picked up a new gun: Ruger LCP .380
I picked out a gun for my wife which I will most likely carry concealed more often because it is so small you hardly notice it.
I really like it.. cool little gun. It has a tendency to try to jump out of your hand when you fire so just have to watch your grip closer. If you have big hands like me you can only get 2 1/2 fingers on the front (with the extension).. but it doesn't have much kick to manage.
The gun store I went to has a big indoor range so you can pay to try out a gun before you buy it. I did not expect a little .380 to have any accuracy at all.
It was pretty impressive.. of coarse I wouldn't trust it over 15 yards.
I picked up a few accessories: Crimson Trace laser, Pocket holster and some FMJ and Hollow Point ammo (more expensive than 9mm!)
It's new home:

I read on them alot. I had been looking at sub compacts.. but they are all thick. Was going to get the Springfield XD sub compact.
This this is as thin as a cell phone.. less than an inch thick. From the reviews and shows I've watched this is the most reliable .380 semi auto. I've put only 20 rounds through in the test fire session. No jams and it was dead on. Surprisingly.
Only draw back is the ammo is twice the cost of 9mm.

You can still find .380 online pretty cheap if you look around. Lucky for me I stocked up on a ton of it when I found a Walmart in northern Illinois that was stocked with both FMJs and hollows during a trip up north last year (perhaps the ONLY good thing about Chicago and Illinois' ridiculous gun laws... not many people with handguns to buy up the ammo). At the Houston gun shows people are still getting away with charging twice what Walmart does for the white box Winchesters.
I have an LCP with a Crimson Trace laser on it as well, but I really don't like carrying something that small. I just use it for when theres no way I can carry something on my hip. Usually wear my XD40 subcompact, or if wearing a tighter shirt i go out with the Kahr PM9 or Taurus 709 slim on me. I agree that the LCP is much more accurate than I expected too, though it also kicks pretty hard for a .380 so good luck with a follow up shot. I really wouldn't try to compare the LCP and the Kahr's to each other. Very different guns.
Definitely worth picking one up for the price.

I recently bought my dad a kel tec pf9 for his upcoming bday. I would have gotten him a smaller .380, but I have the press and dies setup for 9mm already.
Here is a pic
(that is a quarter next to it for size comparison)

As of last night aimsurplus.com had FMJ for $10 for a 35 round box, dont see it on there today though so that shipment must have sold out. They send me emails whenever they get it in. I'll go through my links later and post up some deals.
If you catch a shipment at a Walmart they have Winchester 100 pack FMJ's for $30 and Remington 100 pack hollows for $32. Here in the Houston area theres a couple Walmarts that seem to get more shipments than most of the other stores for some reason, might be worth your time to call around.
