Default Autocad - Pipeline work

My brother just received his certification for Autocad - Pipeline.

If anyone knows of an opening for an Autocad position, could you please help my brother out? Or if anyone knows of a company that is hiring for Autocad work. He's looking for a job here in Houston.

Thanks you!

Its tough here in Houston for Engineering work and even construction work for refinery/chemical plants. I work for a engineering firm and its almost a ghost town everyday here from projects not coming in. I think all engineering companies are feeling the tough time espicially now that BP has all these problems which is just ruining business everyday. Best bet is to get on the road, more jobs out there if hes willing to travel.

He's willing to travel. He needs help getting his foot in the door. Do you know of any job openings, or where he can drop off his resume at?

Good luck! I have 10 years experience with lead designer experience under my belt and I was outnof work for almost 5 months. I had to take a huge pay cut and get out of pipe for now to get a job. I did have an interview with a major gas company last week and am hopeful for an offer but like said right now it is brutal.

he's a week late. We are interviewing for 3 spots this week. Keep an eye out on conocophillips.com

they have career page, and he can keep looking. All the majors have it.

It's a tough field right now. We had over 100 applicants for 3 jobs, and this is the second time it's gone around since the first no one wanted to accept the offers...

his prob best bet is to get on with a contractor. Most majors don't do much of their own work these days, it's all contracted out.

+1 to it being difficult to find work like that in houston. I used to work do autocad work for a place called casteel fire systems, and they've all but layed everyone off.

I can check at work, not sure what the requirements are, but we have data analysis at the office that generate reports for smart pigging(pipeline inspection).

A lot of my time here is dedicated to doing that. I generate pipe tallies and calculations worksheets to determine response times and locations of pipeline corrosion.

I also update P&IDs, PFDs, Electrical onelines, etc. The CAD work has been pretty dry here lately.
