I thought only fast cars needed cages.

Seriously tho if the cage is already set in there I can do it at work no charge. Or any muffler shop or something can weld it also.

It will really be bad when it doesn't pass inspection and you have to pay for someone to fix it

Penguin yes ur car has to be fast to have o that's y I'm getting one. Last bracket race I ran a a 12.0 in the freaking 100 degree weather as soon as the weather cools down should drop .3 or. 4 plus the 100-150 shot ill spray so I should be around the need a cage category. Plus I need it for pinks if I want to go fast enough

Just as long as the tubes are the correct size, the points are in the right location and the welds are complete the car will pass. When I had to get my cage certified he just checked the tubing size and made sure the welds were complete. The only time you need to worry about getting the cage certified is when you go a 9.99 or faster.

I do not understand why he is being bashed for wanting to save the money and do it himself? Has America gotten so pussified that everyone is so incompetent do anything themselves and thinks they have to pay someone in order for the job to be done right? Damn go buy some damn tools and work on your car!

I have been racing for a long *** time and I have seen some people build some 1st class home built cars. Just because it was done in someones garage does not mean it was not done right. Were do you think the guys at LMR and GForce got started?

If he was attempting to build a car that runs in the 6's then YES contact LMR and get them to build you a sick *** car. We are talking about a $300.00 cage kit, what if he has to get it redone in the future? At least he can say he tried...
