Default VOLT = 41k, bring them to TEXAS!

This car is the beginning of the future for daily commuters. The VOLT is the part of America's plan to end our dependence on foreign oil. Thats all it is. The Gov is paying for a good piece of the 41k. The United States Gov wants you to buy this car. They will pay you 7.5k if you buy one! Honestly, who cares about the price. GM's target market is the middle and upper class American families that that are concerned about America's horrible economy. Those families can afford them and will buy them. Who wouldn't? You're buying GM's Model T. The beginning of the future.

I'm tired of listening to haters ripping on the VOLT. "Oh the Prius is way better blah blah." The 2011 VOLT is not about profits, its about changing America's roads for the future. A future where we can go out exploring America's roads in my Chevy without paying the oil rich middle-eastern tycoons an arm and a leg.

As we all know, Texas is the greatest state of the history of the world.
Texas leads the nation with "oil conserving" technologies. We lead everything. Smart Texas families will buy this car. Austin is going to be crawling with these.

Go Chevrolet. Go America. And most importantly, GO TEXAS.

3 letters E. V. 1. A huge failure for GM. GM is prone to repeat itself.

Its not about the charging thats a big deal to me it's the fact it's a 100+Mpg car!!! I have been saying they need to build a car that works like a train for years. This car is not really a hybrid in the sense it never really uses the engine to drive the wheels. If I had the $$$ I would by one asap!!

For short commuting, where the battery is the only thing running, and not the gasoline generator. Long commutes, it doesnt do nearly as well, but for people commuting in the city short distances it's definately a good idea.

GM killed the ev1 because gas was still cheap and the technology was 20 years ahead of its time.

The question no one has addressed, is how much extra you pay for the electricity to Charge the car every night.
If it costs more then $200 extra a month on a 41k car.. that RETARDED..

you can get a brand new civic for 14k.. and it gets 33mpg. You would have to drive for something dumb like 6-10 years just to cover the price difference between the volt and a civic.

According to the Kwhr reported that it will require, $1.00-$1.30 a night if you completely discharge it and completely recharge it

I don't think it will sell very well at all with a starting point near 35k.

I actually like the look of the Volt. 1000x more than the damn Prius. The way I drive my car (basically just to and from work) I would never use any gas.

But I too wonder about how much it would raise my electric bill per month. Maybe if you could figure out a way to charge it using your neighbor's electricity or if you lived in an apartment complex or something, lol.
