Default oil filter

just heard u can put an ls truck oil filter on an ls1..never heard of it wanted to know if it works.

Yes, You can put a truck oil filter on a car, But the downside to it is if your lowered if you run over something your oil filter will take the hit aswell, Possibly busting the filter. I used to use the truck filter till I seen how banged up my filter was after the car was lowered.

They are just longer than stock. Stock will sit about flush with the oil pan, the truck one will stick out pass the oil pan. Go to the auto parts store and look at the diff.

welll my car isnt dropped, maybe i'll give it a try on my next oil change.

just make sure you get the older style one, newer trucks have a different size thread

Wix 51522 should work nicely. It's the longer filter the 99-02 trucks use.

more filter area, holds more oil in the filter...so you can have more oil in the engine without it becoming an issue

I use the ac/delco PF61E and get about 7-10 more psi oil pressure no matter what oil I use.
