Default Got skunked!!!!

Let the dogs out at 2:30am to go potty and they got nailed. They both ran back in before I knew what was going on and contaminated the whole house. Ruined alot of things in my bedroom, mattress, bedding, etc. I have been up since then cleaning with bleach, vinegar, febreeze, and anything else I had. Going to get skunk shampoo this morning for the dogs on top of what they have already been bathed in. Any of you know good remedies for the inside of the house odor. I have mopped and wiped all I can, but it still has alittle lingering smell. Any help is appreciated. I googled the topic, and have done basically all listed.

I was in the same situation as you a while back, but we have tile in the whole house. I tried mopping and febreeze, but the smell was still around. It seems like the smell is so hard it gets into all the fabrics in the house, like curtains, sofas, ect ect. Just keep spraying that febreeze and it will slowly go away.. good luck man, it takes A WHILE for it to finally go away!

Found a product at tractor supply that is an enzyme that is made to dissolve the odor. It seems to be working thus far. Have 5 fans going with everything open that will open. And I luckily have no carpet, so have been mopping constantly. Its way better, but still has a presence. I am going to kill that little ******.

Did just get a phone call that a skunk was hit on the road directly across from me. HA HA HA. The only reason he was around last night is the perimeter lights timer messed up. That wont be happening again.

i'd bath the dogs in a half dozen cans of tomato juice.

throw the bedding away and just keep airing out the house. it must be brutal in this heat right now too.

Thermostat shows 97 in here right now. Wiping the sweat from my eyes while I type. Wife is almost back with more skunk solution. I should have driven there myself.

if it still stinks they did this on mythbusters and it seemed to work better than the commercial skunk deodorizer

Hydrogen peroxide + baking soda + liquid dish soap

Enzymes is your best bet and there is a automotive carpet enzyme cleaner you can pick up as well that should work for your sheets/beding.
