Default To the guy who posts his exterior detail work...

First off, you do great work. Here's my question: How much of a scratch can you remove with polishing? I have a black '08 Z71 and live on a ranch......This truck looks 10 years old bc the sharp plants/shrubs and trees along the ranch roads scratch it when I drive around. I washed it the other day and now I want to puke....I mean the paint is shiny, but its covered with scratches that arent too deep, just have that waxy look and make it look like crap. Ill try to post pics in a min...

As long as they aren't through the clear you are good, you can tell. We did a truck like you are describing at work and it turned out great when it was done. It was an 02 or something but it had like 28k on the clock, looked like a 150k truck from the outside.

Check to see if your finger nails get caught on the scratches...

Here are some pics. I'm not nearly as worried about my gray '06 as I am the black truck. I cant hang a fingernail on any of the scratches but still wanna know how well they can be cleaned up. Thanks a mil.

Yeah dude those are nothing. But **** man if you are still going to be driving through that crap every day you might as well leave it. If you keep having the scratches taken out then the clear will eventually burn through. I would wait to have them buffed out until you were ready to sell it or something.

Its definately repairable. Its not a hard job to do but you can only do that so many times. Let me know what you want to do.

10-4. So are you guys recommending a good waxing and just wait til Im gonna sell it to do the scratch removal? Somebody here will get the job. I oughta be ashamed for letting these trucks get in this shape.

Personally I would just hit it with the glaze and wait to do the scratch removal. Ex-ss-ve will hook you up though with whatever you want.

This is my original hood with just glaze and wax. It will bring out the shine and maybe get rid of the small scratches but won't tear through the clear.
