Don't get in a hurry and shop around. You can pick up something pretty nice for 7500

+1

Now-a-days you can find a pretty clean LS1 for that much. Just don't jump the gun and buy the first thing you see.

You can get a decent higher miles car, probably an auto for that much. The nicer 6 speed SS/WS6 cars are around $10k.

Craigs list has something waiting for you. Find something that is in great shape for 8500$, then bust the 7500 cash in their face, and tell them that is what you got. They will probably take it.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/texas-cla...ale-trade.html

If you have any kind of credit you can get a loan for the difference. This thing gets nearly 22 in city and over 28 highway with power to spare. Most all of the drivetrain has less than 30K on it. Feel free to call me.

Doesn't matter, credit on these cars is few and far between, unless your doing a private loan. Banks won't pick up risk on a car 8+ years old and most of these have at least 80K on the clock.
