Default knocking sound coming from motor.

I started the car yesterday after it sitting for a month or so. it started up pretty good but i did notice the idle was high right at around 1,5k. So i reset the tps and it came down and as soon as i restarted it i heard a knocking sound coming from the passenger side. When rev the motor a bit where the throttle cable is it seems to get louder n faster. It kinda sounds like a woodpecker hitting a tree if that makes any sense. But i have never heard this sound before so im not too sure where to start. Im thinking i should start checking the pushrods but i want to ask before i start taking things apart.

Thanks
Jay

A sound clip would help generously.

But to prematurely say what it might be, the main two things it sounds like are either rod knock or a valve contacting a piston. Both will increase with rpm.
A rod knock usually sounds deeper, with valve contact sounding more like a click or snapping your fingers.
Does the car have an aftermarket cam/springs/pushrods? A bent pushed or broken valvespring could be the culprit, even if stock. thats the easiest/cheapest out of the two to check and fix.

Just pull that valve cover and check the valvesprings first, then the pushrods.

It's more of a knock. When I get home I'll get a clip on my iPhone but I don't know if it will come up here. The car has heads n cam that were installed 2 years ago. It's pretty loud but only comes from the passenger header side.

Does the sound go away after the engine is warm? The LS1 is notorious for cold start piston slap, it's a common problem.

Is the oil pressure bad or moving around?

Pull the oil dip stick out and see if there is any metal in the oil.

Oil pressure is good, no metal on the dipstick or bubbles and the lifters are new when I did the H/C/I

If the oil pressure is good then there is no need in changing the o-ring on the oil pump

Exhaust leak at the header flange? These can sound very much like this. They will be louder on a cold start.
