Painted My FAST 92mm Intake: Lots of Pics Decided to paint my new FAST 92mm intake red with black lettering. This was the first time I have ever painted something, so given that, I think it came out pretty good. I'll have to take a pic with it on my car here soon... But let me know what you all think (:
What I used:
- Duplicolor Victory Red Paint
- Duplicolor Clear Coat
- Duplicolor Adhesion Promoter
- Duplicolor Brilliant Black Crystal - 2 in 1 Applicator
- Rust-Oleum Sandable Primer
- 1000, 400, and 180 Grit Sandpaper
Everything costed about $22.
Before:
Adhesion Promoter:
Primer:
Clear Coat:
Paint:
2 in 1 Applicator:
Sandpaper:
Sanded down with 180 Grit:
Added Adhesion Promoter, let dry for 15 minutes, then Primer:
Sanded Primer With 400 grit, followed by 1000:
Base Coat:
Second Coat:
Final Coat:
Painted Lettering:
Clear Coat (3 coats):
Final Product:

Looks good. Post up some installed pictures once you get it done; I also think it would have looked nice with your color scheme swapped (primarily black w/ red accents)

Will say when I started reading this thread I was a little skeptical as if I would like the color scheme but looks great man! Also the black lettering you did looks great too! What is the temp rating on the paint you used? I painted the intake on my car to match using enamel paint and haven't have a problem out of it.
