Default y-pipe question

If I get a ory and some high flows, will a muffler shop weld the cats into the ory? or will they tell me that I need to get a catted y? and also, I have read that high flows flow almost as good as a straight pipe, how much will they restrict sound over a ory?

You'll have to ask your exhaust shop about whether or not they'll weld in your supplied cats....some will and some won't. And yes, in general, the aftermarket high-flow cats are MUCH better than the stock pieces and do not restrict you significantly.

Same holds true for the Houston area.. Look for the "Whistle Tips Installed Here" sign.

haha ok, I will keep an eye out for ghetto looking shops, and also, what if I brought some high flows in to the shop, would most shops fab up a custom y pipe and just weld the cats in there? or do those ghetto shops not custom fab pipes? I know these are some noob like questions, so i'm sorry, but I am new to this whole thing. aaannndd, if they custom made a y pipe, would they be able to connect the 02 sensors?

Most shops will fab up whatever you want.

When you tune them out you will have no problem but you have to pay someone to tune it ... which will cost you more so I understand.

Or you can buy some O2 Sims.

well I know that, but here they do a visual and emissions testing so I dont think I'd pass with an ory even with the o2's tuned out
