Default i live my life one quarter mile at a time...

I've never ran at a track before and id like to go to the san antonio river raceway since I only like about 15 miles away. What should I do in preperation? I really just want to get a base number to see where iam at. What et should I exspect and how much does it cost? Is it per run or as many as you want.
Vechile-73 vette stock weight with a sbc is about 3200-3300 so it should be lighter
Engine-01 ls1 with headers open exhaust underdrive pulley I think ls6 intake and cam(I say this because I have blue valve springs)
Trans-t56

This is the only ls1 car I've driven but for some reason it feels like it has a lot of *****. From a dead stop to 5th gear the car just sucks you into the seat.

1- Prepare to be hooked
2- i wouldnt expect to run better than a 14.0 in that vette.
3-You pay at the gate, and itll be as many runs as you can get in if its test and tune.
4- You will be nervous, but other than that, there isnt really a lot of prep in a "stock" vehicle.

Edit, i skipped over the ls6 cam.....so i change my ET estimate to 13.50 optimistically.

Hooked, addicted, you will want to keep going back lol.

The tracks fun no matter what you drive. When the light hits green go. Read up online on how to stage properly, (inch forward until both sets of lights come on, this means the lights are about to go).

I say 14.0 considering you mention nothing about tires. If you're on DR's then I say 12.7

Your reCtion time is irrelevant on test n tune. Leave when you are ready.. get your rpms right and then leave, only way you will get a good et..

On the same pass a r/t of .003 and a r/t of 1.93 will be the same exact slip.

I would be afraid to break the rear end in that car.

I used to run at Alamo in 1996-98. The track was a real dump back then, but I hear its nice now. Drag racing is addictive!!!!!! have fun.
