I passed texas 's inspection. I decided yesterday to get my texas lic. Then the fun started. Didnt have my birth cert. Then was told I need to have the car inspected/w new plates before a lic is given. So I found a place off lamar ave south of walmart in a shithole part of town. The guys were sitting around waiting for business. The "tech" took my keys and said see you in a few minutes. WHOA stop right there! I asked where were you going, and he said road test for the brakes. Not without me .NO-one drives my car without me with them. He drove down a side street at about 40 mph and slams on my brakes and my car stops on a dime. "you passed" he said.
So he hooks up the computer and pops the hood. He checks the brake fluid and closes the hood. Then comments about how loud my car is. I told him no muffler only a resonater. "you got cats?" he asks. Umm ya I said-(lying thru my teeth). Okay then lemme check your tint and you on your way. WOO HOO

Now I gotta find my security allen wrench to put the silly plates on.

OBDII testing is so much less aggravating than doing the sniffer test. With my '89 Formula, it's like pulling teeth trying to get it to pass and behave. Then again, it did pass with 1 dead O2, a giant maf leak, a tune for a stock 5.7 (on a cammed 6.0), and aftermarket high flow cats...

Gotta love OBDI LOL

I also had NO air pump or EGR. But they have been tuned out.
