They give $30 thursday tattoos, my friend told me. She said it is a book of tattoos you can choose from. Ink Pit is the place. I need a new guy/girl tattoo artist. If you are going to get a tattoo do NOT get a 30 dollar tattoo. If you do it will be like a miniature clover leaf or something stupid like a little chinese symbol. Shops run specials like that from time to time but you get to choose from 10-20 very tiny very simple tattoo's and a lot of the time you will get low quality too, so be careful.
A little advice if you want a real tattoo, be prepared to spend real money. I can give you the name of an amazing artist that does phenomenal work but I am not going to attach my name to a referral for someone looking to spend $30. That wasn't meant to be rude, its just the truth.

Too bad you aren't closer I'm a tattoo artist and do great work.
Definately do not even go to a place that does business like that because they rush you in and push you out its all about quantity not quality. Go and check out different shops and talk to the artist and tell them you want custom work. If you are going 3/4 sleeve do not piece it together with random crap. Have him draw it out as one picture and then get it done in sessions

The artist I used in Austin would reserve Fri / Sat nights for walk-ins. He could crank out cheap simple ones and make $$$.
If I had to do it over again I'd go large and detailed. It's what I ended up with eventually.

I have plenty of tattoos already. I did not say i was going to get one of those $30 tattoos. It was me saying stuff about the tattoo shop that i was told about it. I do need a different tattooist. I cant find mine anymore. My sleeve that i want is all drawn up in different pcs. It just needs to be pieced together. My uncles nephew is a tattoo artist but it is hard to get in with him. He is booked up for months at a time. He is in amarillo named Derek. His shop used to be called Screamin Mimi's.. I just posted this up for the reason of anyone knows that shop. Not to get a $30 tattoo...sorry for the post

I personally don't. Good Luck, Oh and BTW me and several friends have gotten great tattoo's at Lone Star Tattoo, they have two locations and all the artists are very talented. Trey Edinger is my personal favorite there.

I am debating a tattoo from Horiryu who does traditional Japanese Artwork. I grew up in Japan and have always been fascinated by their artwork and style. I think he will be in Houston later this year, just not sure what shop he will be using for his appointments.
My wife is also looking for someone in the Houston area who can do more photo-realism work. Anyone know about Horiryu or about a local Houston shop/artist that does realistic artwork? Not looking for skulls, flowers, monsters, or any of that type of work. We found an artist outside of Los Angeles (Joshua Hibbard of Manakin Tattoo) that seems to have a portfolio of work that she likes, just not sure if we are simply overlooking someone in Houston or Texas for that matter that is just as good or better. I am not opposed to traveling or paying for the craftsmanship that is required.
She is actually looking for a Bee tattoo as well in memory of our last Boxer who passed away but wants something realistic looking, not just some Bee tattoo on her shoulder.
