thats retarded why would coil packs be doing that..
im guessing they left a spark plug loose or cross threaded and forced it in
or the air or egr was moved off to access and the gaskets were reused or not installed causing exh leak

The things posted above are the only logical thing that could have happened if it only got a tune up. Lifter is possible but would have no relation to a tune up. It would only be pure coincidence that it started at the same time.
Tick sounds come from plugs not screwed in all the way, wires not connected right, or exh leaks, the only exh leak after a tuned up should be from the egr system, unless they are retarded and did something crazy you shouldn't be doing during a tune up.
You didn't recently put lower than 93 octane gas in it did you? They will ping on low octane or bad gas, MAINLY under heavy acceleration. The tick from a plug or wire would normally only be heard from under the hood while at idle.
I live really close to Garland btw, I live in Rowlett. I could tell you what the sound is.

I only put 93 octane in it. I've never put anything lower than that. Where in Rowlett is pretty close to Garland.

But people will rag on our cars, unfortunately its part of the deal, a lot of mechanics are into cars that are not normal especially fast cars, so they will beat on them. But that being said we beat on our cars all the time without it harming them, its only if someone does something really wrong that it harms them, like over revving the hell out of it.
Do you have a check engine light on?? If a wire isn't connected or a coil is not firing it should set a misfire code and the light will flash, you should also notice the car running rough if that is the case
