Default OK I know its not a ls1 thing but i have to ask.....

I just got a 86 mustang lx coupe with a mild 302 that isnt all that healthy. if anybody knows me they know i had a pretty fast s10 (sig below) that i totaled. well i have the engine out of it, its a 385 sbc stroker. the body is real straight on this car and i got it for a real good deal, if this 302 doesnt last i have to put something in there. so has any one on here done a sbc into a fox body swap? i dont have a lot of money to spend on it so the swap has to be relatively cheap.

I'm sure it won't cost much, you already have the big ticket item on your hands.

Im sure kooks or dynatech make something for that, call em up. I know they both have lsx swap headers so I would imagine they'd have sbc as well. Also AJE k-member. Ask in the conversions section as well, lotta knowledgeable people in there.

Don, why don't you sell the 385 and get a LS Platform engine ? Would be more practical for a daily driver than a carbed motor and surely much better MPG. 6.0/T-56 in that car would rip massive ***, hell put a turbo on it and your done.

Good luck to whatever you decide to do

honestly thats what i really want to do, if this 302 lasts a while i might go ahead and to that, but if it doesnt then i will be forced to put the old motor in.

The more and more I think about it.It seems like the Chevy powered foxbody is the way to go.I've thought about this for sometime and well I guess if my Coupe don't sell soon I might be lookin at a big inch LSX swap since its the thing to do
