Default Harley F150's?

Anyone ever owned one? Curious on the gas mileage and how well they respond to mods. Are they reliable? Any quirks with them?

Hoping someone here has delt with them, the one I am looking at has 130k but super clean inside and out.

I like everything about the supercharged Harley trucks. You can get ok mileage if you keep it out of boost.

If you can get a good deal then pick it up.

I believe they are the same setup as the lightnings, but with a tad less boost (different pulley) I havent heard much bad about those things though, would like to have one myself. I know the lightnings had some weird quirk with the sparkplugs popping out, not sure if that was ever addressed and fixed.

You can make them pretty quick with a pulley swap. Mod motors tend to run for a while, so I wouldn't worry about 130k.

Yeah my car is dropped! Lowered that is. Very low. It probably wont be when I get done with my build. I've owned quite a few of Gm and ford vehicles and have only had one ford that I never had a major problem with. My triton v-8 was the biggest turd I've ever sat in. I only had it for 6 months and had 6 plugs blow out and strip the heads. The last one caught the truck on fire.

WAYYYYYY over priced car - like most of ford's speciality trucks (IE: lightning, Harley, Eddie Bower, King Ranch, etc....). I'd only pick it up if it was priced right as someone is probably gonna gouge you thinking it's gonna be a collector one day.

I was gonna trade my F250 and like $5,000 from his end.. Idk, just depends. I couldn't ever have a "stock" gas truck after having the tuned F250's, makes the Escalade a flat out dog in comparison.

Here is the pic he sent me..

They're good trucks if they've been taken care of. I know on the 03-04 cobras they have confusing *** belt systems, and you better learn how to change the oil out of the eaton and or get it rebuilt if its been pullied. These motors aren't forged and can't take the abuse the cobras can, and I don't know anyone who has kept there's stock. It's really a hit or a miss man. If it has been pullied I'd walk away, but that's just me.

crank pulley/filter/tune you will be happy and it should get about stock gas mileage. Don't really do much more because from what I've gathered is those stock pistons or rods are garbage. I don't remember which exactly. Nice unique trucks (ford has much more attention to detail), unlike GM's dumb "specialty" trucks which basically only includes different wheels and some badges.

avoid 2v fords like the plague, especially with boost. unless you plan on doing a 5.4 4v swap then move on. (btw 5w20 iirc they have tooth picks for rods.)

you'd be better off with a 5.3 and some nitrous if you're looking for a little speed.

My brother has owned 2, one 2002 and one 2003. I did all the bolt-ons on both including pulleys(around 12psi). He was running 12.9-13.0s consistently with no problems. Very nice trucks! He got rid of the 03 to get a Lightning and is now pushing 500 to the wheels with a built motor(rods are a weak link in these motors).
