Default Anyone been to the Spoetzl Brewery in Shiner, TX?

I've been thinking about doing a little road trip down there to check it out. I was curious if anyone here has been before. If so, how was it in general? Did they have places setup where you can sample all or some of their brews?

It's a little bit of a drive from Dallas but isn't too bad, I think it may be worth the experience. I enjoy most of their brews but there's still a few I haven't tried yet.

Wouldn't be a bad trip, make a weekend out of it and hit up Gruene, Texas and New Braunsfels while your down there, both those are close to 35. One thing I regret not doing when I lived in San Antonio was going up to Gruene while I was some what close.

been twice, well worth it. try out the local restaurants too, they have some damn good shiner food. the sample beer they give you is the freshest you can get.

I really like it. I have been probably 4-5 times in the past 5 years. I have family in the Hill Country so we stop by when the tours are open on our road trips.

I'm a Shiner Blonde guy as well. Good stuff.

I grew up 10min from shiner, I have never taken the tour, and...I do not drink shiner beer.

Shiner resteraunt and bar is the ONLY place id eat at if I was you.

True. But they still give free samples in the tasting room on Saturday afternoon.

If you haven't had your fill at the brewery, have another one at Howard's or Art Antiques & Beer. Unbelievably cheap beer prices.

and to the Shiner Restaurant & Bar. Get the pulled pork chile relleno if its still on the menu.
