Chevy dealer can cut you a new one based on the vin. You have to bring in proof you own the car, such as title or tx registration. I cant remember the cost.

Brother just locked his keys in his car two days ago. Went to the stealership only to purchase an "H" key that allows entry to the car and T-top locks for a whopping $25. With this I can only imagine the VATS key costing around $50 or more.

Good luck.

$50 i wish, mine was $275 because there is a chip in the key that has to be programmed.

actually there is no programing. There are just different resistors in the keys. You have to get the one for your car.

Wow, either you guys are getting ripped off, or I got an awesome deal. I got the dealer to cut me a new ignition key (with pellet) for $25.

Well thanks a lot guys for all the info and guidance towards the right direction, I ended up going to a chevy dealer and they charged me $89 for the set of keys(ignition & door), too bad that this was just the beginning of my problems for today. Ended up with my exhaust pretty much falling apart and going to a muffler shop that pretty much was over pricing their service, but hopefully I can have my baby back and running soon.. Much thanks to Dirty30 for all his help.
