Default Is my alternator crapping out?

Lately, my gauge cluster has been acting weird. The most recent thing I have done to the car was install a Hughes SFI approved flexplate and replace the seals on my injectors because one was leaking (fixed the leak). Upon startup, my battery gauge has been hovering around 15.5-16 volts. After a few minutes of driving, it goes down to 13.5-14 volts. I took my battery in to get tested at autozone and it checked out fine. Its only a year old. My gauges have been turning on and off while driving the car. Service engine, gas level, INOP ABS, tachometer, ASR OFF, seatbelt light...etc. Every now and then, my engine has a hard time finding its idle. Ever since I bought the car 2 years ago, the headlights and interior lights sort of flicker at night time. I have seen other camaros with the same flickering issue too. I don't know if that is related, but i figured the more details the better. Are these symptoms of alternator issues?

Very likely. 00pooterSS did a thread detailing a swap to a higher output alternator off of a Tahoe, Escalade, etc.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/generatio...-failures.html

I did this and have been very pleased with the results.

No need for the truck alternator housings. Stock housing can be rebuilt all the way up to 200amp if need. I get mine to 135amp. Stock is 105/110amp.
Stock housing cam get built to 135/175/200amp.

True, but when I called around it was much more than this

So I spent the $45 and was done with it. I think a quality rebuild to130 amps or so was going to run me $100 or so all said and done.

Looks for places on the web or in the yellow pages. Places that rebuild alternators and starters are not as common as they used to be, but they are around.
