Default 00 SS Vin check or anyone recognize this car??

Vin# 2G1FP22G5Y2135666 last 3 digits scare me. Lol

Story is its got 39,000 "original" miles. One owner whom passed away and left it to his daughter. Daughters husband paints a black stripe down the middle. (very sloppy). Then gets in some kind of trouble and is now sitting in prison. So his brother is trying to sell it for them to fund his attorney. He doesn't know much about it. I can tell the entire front end has been off the car and put back on. It drives great and shifts nice. Its a auto car with roll up windows which I thought was crazy. I haven't seen a SS with roll up windows that I can recall?

usually roll up windows and manual locks made it a 1LE car, and from what I gather, there were a few 1LE SS' made, but IRC they were hard tops...

I thought the same thing. From what I could find they didn't produce a 1LE in 2000. They did in 99 and auto cars are rare. I could be wrong...

Not necessarily. It could just be a 1SC car.

I'm starting to wonder about this car. It sounds like it might be a stripper car. It has no power anything other than steering. No cruse control or rear defrost. The owner was on the forums just not sure which one? thanks for the info!!

Well through GM nothing pulls up but this
11/19/2001 932802 ZREG----Regular Vehicle Transaction R3291 - Mirror, Outside Rear View - Electric Remote Control - Left - Replace 5,322 MI
10/18/2001 931843 ZREG----Regular Vehicle Transaction R3281 - OUT RR VU MIR RPL 5,322 MI

and then nothing after that, it doesnt even give me a breakdown of the options/build either

Ravenous, Thanks for looking into it. I just got off the phone with him. He talked to his brother that's in prison. It is a stripper car. Pretty damn rare after looking into it. Its a t-top car and there was only 315 produced in 00. It super light weight. It was been in a wreck. The owner said he pulled into his garage too far and damaged the front bumper. I call BS. He's only asking $7,500 for it. It would have been worth double if it wasnt wrecked. They didn't do a good job with the repair work. I'm passing this one up, but its on Dallas craigslist. It drives really smooth and hauls ***. For being all stock.

I saw a stripper car on the dealership lot in 01-02, not sure what the model year was, but the MSRP on that thing was $16k. It was a very plain jane Z28.

http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/cto/2893090162.html

It's back up, like I stated its been in a front end crash and looks like it was repaired by Maco or some place off Harry Hines. Looks great in the picture, NOT in person.
