Default 317 castings on a stock short block?

Are these castings any good? Found a pair for really cheap, and was wondering what the opinion is on them. I running the stock 853 castings right now, so looking for a cheap upgrade when I drop the cam in.

They will lower your compression about half a point. Milling them to a stock size chamber decreases your PTV clearance and adds cost at a minimum of $100 to have the set milled. Save your $$ and buy some 243's.

I run them on my 6.0, just stock lq4/9 heads, great for a 6.0, but as mentioned, lower compression on ls1 short blocks and 4.8/5.3s.

Well I was planning on having them milled, p&p, and a valve job. Guy wants $100 for them so I thought it was a decent deal. I guess I was wrong.

I'll probably buy them anyway and see what happens.
