Default P1626 help!!!!!!

I have a 2002 Camaro z28 A4, and I recently got a code p1626: Theft Deterrent Fuel Enable Signal Lost. The security light comes on and off whenever it wants, but the car still starts. Every once in a while the car wont start on the first crank but will on the second. Ive read up on that code and it says that it just a bad signal from the bcm to pcm. Would the bcm or pcm need to be replaced? Any input on your experience would help a lot. Thanks

Isn't this something that can be disabled with a tuning program?

the error code can be turned off you are correct. however if the bcm is bad it wont matter

the cheapest route is to do the vats bypass mod. go in to radio shack and ask them to measure the resistance in ohms in your key. then get a resistance from a resistor that matches the key and plug it into the ignition harness under the dash, it is an orange wire loom.

there are a few good write ups on tech. if vats bypass doesnt work you probably need to replace the bcm
