I am going to need a lot of help with this one!
It was the original plan when my wife said she wanted a classic but the funds weren't there as if they are now.
Anyway, here I go. Picked up a 6.0 4L60E, got 9" with 3.55 factory posy.
TO do:
1) WIRING
2) Fuel pump tank - Mod the 4 yr old tank or go custom?
3) Motor mounts - make my own or ?
4) Drive shaft
5) Refurb the 9"new bearings , seals and redrill 5.5 to 4.75
6) Program and tune
7) O **** there are rust issues to boot! cut out repair paint

Awesome! I gotta 71 too. With a 6.0 waiting in the wings. If your on a budget, 94-96 b-body gas tank fits.
I think mounts depend on what oil pan you use. I wiuld read all the threads you can in the conversions/hybrids section. Lots of a-body conversions.
Good luck! Any pics?
