Default lsx 327 builders

Does anyone know of a good engine builder that could build a supercharged ls 327 similar to the copo camaro for my 69 camaro? Im not using it for racing just a serious street car.

Not sure if the motor would be serious or if I am serious?? By similar I mean a supercharged ls327 that doesn't have to be the exact specs of the copo race engine. Since its going to be a street car.

Yes. A supercharged ls 327. Not a truck 5.3

LSX aluminum heads whipple supercharger stainless headers

Let me re word this. Does anyone know a good ls engine builder that can build an LS 327 with LS9 aluminum block. Bore 4.065 x 3.150. (326.8 cu in) Forged dome pistons. 10.2 to 1 compression. LS7 heads. Cam 244/255@50. .650 lift. Whipple supercharged. Not a 3.78 x 3.62. 5.3.

The concept has a 2.9.
http://www.chevroletperformance.com/...ro-concept.jsp
It looks like a short stroke LSX block with LS7 heads.

Much like the LT1 based 302, its a novelty engine to capitalize on nostalgia.

That sounds like an awful combo for a street engine. A good engine builder may try to talk you into smaller heads and cam.

Charlie: I don't know for sure.
Greed4speed: that's exactly right
Kcs: its not a daily driver just for fun. I want something pretty extreme. Ha. Would it be too much?

What I find humorous for the nostalgia crowd is that COPOs were 427 cars and thats why COPO came about. If you wanted a 327 it was just a fleet car. Now GM is using the ZL1 name on a car that doesn't have a 427 and putting a 327 in a car with COPO badging. They'll throw old nomenclatures at anything now days.

Good luck with the build. I agree with the huge cam comment though, especially on a blown engine.

02siverstang. Where are you located? Do you build a lot of motors professionally or hobby. I would like to replace my 350 with this motor.

Is there any justification for spending that kind of cash an only 327 cubes? Anything can be done no doubt, but that block can do 427 cubes pretty easily. That would make a couple hundred more HP.

Not really. Either one. I just like the 327 displacement. Are you talking about a blown 427?

No, the block you mention using is capable of going up in cubes and you want to go down. Just tryin to justify your decision making. If it is a toy, rarely driven, or whatever, justakes more power with the more cubes. There are 5.3 engines stock long block with cams making over 700 to the back tires. Cost effective. It would cost more to make a 6.2 destroke to 327 cubes than stroke up to 408 or higher.

i could understand if you wanted something like a Chevy 302 LSX, but a 5.3l truck motor is a 327.... http://www.jegs.com/p/GM-Performance...97510/10002/-1

read this article, it may be what you are wanting http://68lt1camaro.proboards.com/ind...ay&thread=1222

and http://www.superchevy.com/features/c...amaro_ls1_302/

I don't know. That's why I'm on here. I just think that big bore short stroke motor would rev like crazy and put out a lot of hp. And its different

A 4.8 bored .060 over is a 302/5.0. That's a 3.268" crank, will rev to the moon, handle all the boost you can throw at it, and be dirt cheap. Basically 500$ for the block + cost of boring and new rings/pistons. I'd stay away from aluminum blocks and stroker cranks if you want run more than 1Bar.
