Default Tahoe LTZ... A mom car? Comments?

So I've been in the market for another vehicle recently and I'm leaning towards a bigger comfortable vehicle. So yesterday I was out with some buddies and it came up casually, I told them I was looking into the Tahoe LTZ 2009.

They started saying how the Tahoe is a soccer mom car... So forth. And I should get a truck.

I can't believe I'm asking this but is it weird to see a guy driving a Tahoe? My other option would be a Silverado but to me it seems like the Tahoe has everything the Silverado has plus more...

instead of a truck bed I, I got a covered truck bed area that has the option for people to sit if needed.

Seems pretty childish question but since that day I've heard it from several others. I'm not one to care to much about the social norm but I'm curious.

Also anyone had experience with the Tahoe? Any comments would be appreciated.

My friend's parents had a Tahoe when we were in highschool. We called it the taco. That thing was a beast. I would drive one if they got a little better MPG. The new flex fuel ones might be a different story. There's was like an 02 or 03 with the 5.3 liter I think.

i agree with this, I don't think tahoes are girly. but then again, i drive a cts-v, i have a female friend who drives a tbss and another female friend with a z71 tahoe that fits her kids and tows their boat to the lake. so call all those chick cars if you want, but i know plenty of guys who would drive them.

Forget the Z71 and put a blown stroker in the bish then go out and hurt some feelings in the "soccer mom car."

I own a LTZ tahoe Z71 and my old lady and son are in it mostly and they love it and so do I. We traded in our TBSS and don't regret love the room and the look of the tahoe I don't wanna get rid of it.

Get the Z71 variant if your worried about that, Tahoe's are nice *** trucks even in 2wd LTZ pimp mode. But as car guy I would always rather have a bed to haul dirty car parts in. Imagine when you beef up that WS6 and need to haul a motor or rear end, you want it in your nice *** interior, looking all sorts of engine fluids or gear oil? I am going to have to mile out my Sierra in a few years and I think if I was buying right now, I would rather have an F150 crew cab Lariat. The new 5.0s and eco boost are nice choices, far cry from the old mod motors they had in those things. With a crew cab you get 4 full door like a Tahoe but the bed of a truck.
