Default Peyton's Passes - July 28 - Kennedale, TX

HelpPeyton.com and DFW Charity Racing present Peyton's Passes! It will be a night of racing and competition at Texas Raceway in Kennedale, TX. A portion of every entry will go to the Help Peyton campaign. $5 of everyone who enters will go to the Help Peyton Fund. Below are the details of the event.

Date: July 28, 2012

Time: Entry starts at 7pm; Racing from 7:30-midnight

Where: Texas Raceway located at 3830 Kennedale New Hope Rd, Kennedale, TX 76060

Cost: $15 Entry; $5 Tech Card

Events:

Test and Tune: Run what ya brung! Through out the night will be open racing. Race your mom’s minivan to the BBC Chevy on slicks. As long as the track OK’s it, you can race it. Line up against an opponent or just try to beat your times.

Racing League: $5 to enter. Form into groups of any number and type of vehicles. May be friends or may be a club you are apart of. Then, you call out cars on other teams. If you win, you and your team gets a point. If you lose, you lose a point. At the end of the League races, the racer with the most points will be crowned and the team with the most points will be crowned. More details are here: http://dfwcharityracing.com/HelpPeyton/?page_id=136

Bounty Races: $50 for 3 runs. We have 2 vehicles that say you can’t take them. If you do, however, you get some cash and the bounty is on your head. It will be best out of three races. We have a 4cyl Conquest that says there is not any 4cyl in the DFW Metroplex that can beat him. And we have a Supra that says nothing, that’s right, NOTHING in the DFW area can beat him. Each of them will have a pot. Who ever bests them, gets half of what ever in that cars pot AND the bounty is on you. The other half of the money will go to the Help Peyton fund. Other than the Conquest being limited to 4cyl vehicles, there are no restrictions as long as the track allows it. Can you take them?

50/50: We will have a 50/50 pot going. The money you pay for the 50/50 tickets will go in a pot. When we draw, the ticket holder will get half of the winnings in the pot. The other half will go the Help Peyton fund.

Prize Drawing: There will be prizes drawn throughout the night. Everything from gift cards, to DFW Charity Racing merchandise, to free racing for a year at Texas Raceway.

Small Print: You have to wear long pants when going down the track. You don't have to wear them the whole time so bring some break away pants or some pants to go over your shorts. You can have passengers in the car. NHRA track rules apply. If you have a track question, please call the track at (817) 483-0356.

Bump. This is coming up in 5 days. There will be lots of great prizes, racing, call outs, swag, and all for one great kid. Some lucky people may even walk out with a free year of racing or other awesome things. There is also a very good chance the media will be there to cover this. So help us fill the stands and the track in support of Peyton.

One more day until the most awesome event in ages. We have tons of cars planning to be there. There will be a 50/50 going, lots of prizes, merchandise, and more. Please come out and help us fill the stands and the track in support of Peyton. Remember that a portion of every entry goes to the Help Peyton fund.

The night will mostly be open Test and Tune racing. Run what you brung. Line yourself up against a friend, a stranger, or just run against the time.

We will also have a couple great bounty races going on against a wicked fast 4 cylinder Conquest and a ludicrous speed Toyota Supra. The Conquest says that there isn't another 4 cylinder around that can take him. Similarly, the Supra says there is NO ONE of any engine type that can take him down. And there is money for the taking if you manage do do so.

Another awesome series going on through out the night is our Sandbox Callouts. Get yourself on a team or create your own (can be a team of one) and race members of other teams for points. Just be warned you may be called out yourself. Check the OP for more details on becoming a part of this.

Here are the current Sandbox Teams and their members:

Team Peyton: Leader - Flavortext03
Brian aka Flavortext03 - 2012 Lancer Ralliart
Mike aka ameaglemike - 2004 GTO
Bruce - 1971 Chevy Chevelle

Ed aka edbe - 2004 GTO
Mike - Realizer - 2006 GTO
Hayden - 2006 GTO
Mike D aka Prdgyair - 2004 GTO
John aka Cracker37 -2006 GTO
Greg aka Sergo - 2005 GTO

Team Pure Speed: Leader - Ant Speed
Ant Speed aka Ant Speed - 2011 Ford Mustang
Tanika - 2005 Roush Mustang
Danny aka Slo-5.0 - 1989 Ford Mustang
Keanan aka Keanan - 2006 Mustang GT
John aka JOHN - 2010 Ford Mustang GT

Team DFWGMelite: Leader - Slow 6

Today is the day! See you all tonight at Texas Raceway. What kind of vehicle are you bringing to the track?

A few final comments...

Today is going to be hot. We will have lots of water available as well as sports drinks to keep you hydrated. You may also want to consider some sun screen.

Make sure you bring some long pants if you are racing. Don't have to wear them all the time but you will need them to go down the track. That is a track requirement.

If you are faster than 8.39, you will need a helmet. We will have some available (with Lysol wipes, too) to use if you don't have one but try to bring your own if you can.

Most importantly is to have fun! This is a great event for a good kid.

Thank you to everyone that came out and suported us the other night at Texas Raceway. We ended up raising $1055 from the track not counting the generous people that came up and donated.

In addition, please stop by Texas Raceway's Facebook page and drop a few kind words. They went all out to make sure this event was a hit and have even invited us out to do it again.

On that note, we will be doing a Peyton's Passes Part Deux. The date is set for September 22nd. It will include some changes after what we learned from the other night. There will be more racing, more organized and widespread callouts, and....

...we will be bringing back another favorite from the DFW Charity Racing history. At our next event, Chinese Fire Drill Drag Racing will return. Don't know what that is? Here is a video from our past events:
.

Expect a lot more information in the next weeks.
