Default Latest project (non LS)

All this talk of new cars on here has me feeling left out! It's not an LS but I thought y'all might have an interest in it. My dad bought the car about 14 years ago in pieces ( been off the road since '80) for $1100. I have messed with if off and on for years and decided about 2 years ago it was time to make it happen. Car needed paint, some metal work (vinyl top car), motor/trans and interior... and all of the little crap you forget to budget for.

Unfortunately it took longer than planned because I stumbled on that 69 TA clone on here and I ended up doing both at the same time. I'll never have two cars that far disassembled at the same time again.

Anyway- here are some pics from last weekend:

Super nice 70 GTO! Is it a true PHS documented judge or a clone? Makes me miss my 69 even more.

Thanks guys- the car is a real GTO but not a documented judge. I couldn't have suffered through this build and just left it solid blue.

Not many build pics as we got the car soloing ago. I thought I had some but can't find them.

It would be nice with LS power and if it wasn't a GTO I might have considered it. This one is going to stay a pretty much stock cruiser.

My favorite part of the car are the wheels- year one honeycombs. Although honeycomb were not available on an a body until '71 I think they look good and fit the car.

I'm digging those wheels and the Liberty Blue paint.

I really wish my 70 LeMans was a T-37- I love the 71 GT-37 stripes.

If it wasn't silver with green interior on it I would put black stripes on it.

Nice man, who painted it, local or some one by your dads? You need to bring the red Firehawk back down

The car was painted by Bear Creek Maaco- friend of mine owns it and they do a lot of older cars.

I don't see the red Firehawk coming back anytime soon- no room! I did get to drive it to the Trans Am nationals- here is a pic of it next to my dads 20th anniv turbo TA
