Default Detail: 2004 Dodge Viper

This client started out as a regular wash and wax every so often. After the first and second time I cleaned it up, I expressed to the client how much his car could benefit from having the exterior reconditioned. He uses this car often and races it...HARD. The car makes over 1500rwhp and he gets invited to a ton of private air strip racing events all around. The car previously had a vinyl wrap on it and it's been about a year since then so the car was definitely showing signs of its age and having the wrap removed. After those few talks, I came out to wash it again and he asked when I could fit him into my schedule. So, we talked and came to terms for a full correction, touching up some spots with the Dr. Color chip and Opti-coat. :xyxthumbs:

Exterior:

  • Chemical Guys Citrus Wash (twice) Once after polishing
  • Speedy Prep towel
  • Wheels/barrels were hit with CG Diablo wheel gel & various brushes
  • Wheel wells and rubber were hit with APC 5:1 & various brushes
  • Tires dressed with Show Room FX White Pearl
  • Rubber seals on doors/headlights/tailights treated with M40
  • Wells treated with CG Bare Bones
  • M101 Meguiars MF Cutting Disc
  • D300 Meguiars MF Cutting Disc
  • M205 LC Black Foam
  • Optimum Opti-Coat
Interior:

  • Vacuumed
  • Dry brushed
  • Vacuumed once more
  • Interior panels cleaned with APC 10:1
  • Interior panels gone over once more with Meguiars QID
  • Glass treated with Meguiars Perfect Clarity and Buff & Shines glass towels
On to the pictures.

The entire car looked like this with TONS of deep RIDS:

Some marring from M101:

And one After D300:

After compounding and polishing, she was on her way for her second bath to strip all polishing oils and free her of the dust that is M101:

Back inside checking everything out:

The top was polished while on the car, but it was taken off to clean under and dress everything appropriately. Being ever so careful to not abuse this beautiful piece:

Cleaning/Dressing complete:

Back on she goes:

50/50 shot of the rear truck rubber being cleaned/dressed:

Bare Bones being used to dress the wheel wells:

About this time, she was ready to be pulled out into the sun after the Opti-Coat had set and cured over night:

And here she is... after 22 total hours. I hope you're wearing sunglass for the gloss and glare you're about to see.

The owner saw this next pic when I sent it to him before pick up and he said "it was fake" He was astonished once he really saw that it was real :buffing:

Hope you all enjoyed it, I did.

As always...thanks for checking it out and comments/questions welcome!

You're the world's greatest detailer, no sarcasm intended. Black is the hardest color to maintain, and you repaired the race beaten paint back to factory conditions. Awesome work, dude!

Good work man!
I have one some where but I took over 100 pics of everything and haven't had time to go through them. I do have a before shot of it before any cleaning on my phone.
